From marketplace order to SAP sales order.
Connect a paid eBay order to S/4HANA with n8n. A manual starter for mapping products and creating a sales order through OData.
The scenario: eBay to S/4HANA
A customer buys on eBay, and your business uses SAP to manage fulfilment. This starter reads one selected, paid eBay order and creates a sales order through the SAP Sales Order (A2X) OData V2 API. It runs manually so you can inspect the mapping before considering an unattended automation.
What the workflow does
Read the order with an eBay seller OAuth2 credential, validate its payment and fulfilment status, map its SKUs to SAP materials, fetch a SAP CSRF token and session cookies, then POST the header and items to A_SalesOrder. No credentials are included. Download the companion setup guide as well as the JSON.
Your customer and commercial rules
Configure the SAP sold-to customer and sales area for the selected order. SAP determines partners, delivery address, pricing, currency and taxes from its master data. This starter does not transfer the marketplace shipping address, transaction prices, charges or payments. Validate those rules before any business use.
Avoid duplicate documents
The eBay order reference is stored in PurchaseOrderByCustomer, which does not enforce uniqueness. Check SAP before every run, especially after timeouts. A production automation needs a durable duplicate ledger, concurrency controls and reconciliation; do not activate repeated processing without them.
Set up and validate
Import the inactive JSON into n8n, replace the configuration placeholders, map every SKU, and assign eBay OAuth2 plus the same SAP credential to both SAP request nodes. Follow the downloadable guide for prerequisites, assumptions and reference documentation. Mapping and session-handling logic are tested with fixtures; live eBay access and SAP document creation still require validation in your own non-production tenant.
